Europe at the Crossroads: Strategies, Policies and Organisations from Information Systems (IS) and Cognitive Science to Social Sciences Analysis

The French Defence University is working within the field of war and security studies: strategy, intelligence, law, military leadership, the art of command and management, within the services and within new domains - army, navy, air force, space, cyber, cognitive influence. It is now launching the first PARIS DEFENCE AND STRATEGY FORUM 2024.

This conference examines prospective approaches, challenges, opportunities, and strategic risks that arise from the current context of “Europe at the Crossroads”. Analysed and studied from different academic perspectives, Information System (IS) and social sciences are encouraged to contribute to advance knowledge to achieve a better security approach for government, organisations, society and individuals.

Consequently, discussions on the relationships between states and private actors in the development of new technologies, their impact on geopolitical balance, historical perspectives, sociological and cognitive analyses, will be encouraged. Similarly, the advancement of high technology induces paradigm shifts, not only in terms of recruitment and training but also in the way populations are educated, including changes in expectations, aspirations, and concerns. This represents a field that warrants exploration.

We invite scholars, practitioners, and early career researchers to present their research at the PARIS DEFENCE AND STRATEGY FORUM 2024.

We invite submissions of complete research and short papers across 4 conference tracks, including our theme track: “Europe at the crossroads: strategies, politics and organisations from Information Systems (IS) and cognitive science to social sciences analysis”

Theoretical and empirical papers employing quantitative, qualitative, and/or design science are welcome.
